Guitar Earo ("App") is owned and operated by Earo Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application, Guitar Earo.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

  • Personal Information
    • Account Information: When you sign up, we may collect your name, email address, and password.
    • User Profile: Optional information like your guitar skill level or preferences may be stored to customize your experience.
  • Usage Data
    • App Interactions: We track in-app activity (e.g., exercises completed, streaks, scores) to provide analytics and personalize your experience.
    • Device Information: We may collect information about your device and operating system for diagnostic purposes.
    • Arcade Names: If you choose to participate in the Arcade game mode, you may create an arcade name (display name) for use in leaderboards and game results. You control whether your arcade name is public or private.
  • Audio Data
    • We collect and store guitar recordings submitted for gameplay and comparison purposes. These are not linked to identifiable personal information unless submitted by you with such data.
  • Cookies & Analytics
    • We use Firebase and other analytics tools that may place anonymous identifiers (similar to cookies) to understand usage patterns.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide core app functionality
  • Personalize learning content and challenges
  • Maintain game progress and statistics
  • Improve app performance and content
  • Respond to user support requests
  • Communicate updates and changes (only if you opt in)

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your data. We only share information in the following limited cases:

  • With service providers (e.g., Firebase) that support app functionality and are bound by data processing agreements

Arcade Names and Leaderboards: If you choose to make your arcade name public, it will be visible to all users of the App in leaderboards and game results. Your arcade name is the display name you create for use in the Arcade game mode. If you set your arcade name to public, it will appear alongside your scores and rankings in global leaderboards, and other users will be able to see your arcade name when viewing leaderboards or game results. You can change your arcade name or its visibility settings at any time through the App settings.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. You may request account deletion by contacting us at support@earo.app.

5. Children's Privacy

Guitar Earo is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover that we have unintentionally collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

6. Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
