My Story

I was 14, completely out of my depth, trying to choose my first real guitar. I didn't know tonewoods from firewood, and I had no one I truly trusted to guide me.

That first Jackson Soloist felt like the future. But as my tastes shifted from metal to blues, it no longer felt like "me." So came the '76 Strat - imperfect, quirky, but something deeper happened: I learned.

Then came temptation - a '71 Les Paul. Perfect for Guns N' Roses. But when it came to Hendrix, blues, or pure expression, it was always the Strat that spoke to me.

"It took me years to trust my ears. Years of mistakes, detours, experiments, and self-doubt. But eventually, I built that confidence."

If I could hand my 14-year-old self a tool that gave me even a little more confidence, a little more clarity, my journey would have been different.
